PriceProof 30
Terms of service
Last updated 19 August 2026
These terms apply to PriceProof 30 (“the app”) as installed on a Shopify store. Installing the app means accepting them.
What the app does
The app records the price of each product variant in the store as it changes, calculates the lowest price that was in effect during the last 30 days, and makes that figure available to the store's theme so it can be displayed on product pages.
What the app cannot know
This is the most important thing to understand before relying on the app. Shopify keeps no history of past prices, so the app can only report on prices it observed after it was installed. For the first 30 days the figure it shows is based on a partial window. A setting is provided to keep the widget hidden until a full window of history has been collected.
Legal compliance is the merchant's responsibility
The app exists because the EU Omnibus Directive requires traders announcing a price reduction to state the lowest price applied in a preceding period. The app is a tool for recording and displaying that figure. It is not legal advice and it does not certify or guarantee that a store complies with the Omnibus Directive or with any other law.
Whether the displayed figure satisfies the obligations in a particular country, how it must be worded, and over what period it must be calculated remain the merchant's responsibility to determine. The merchant should confirm their own requirements, and is responsible for verifying that the figure shown on their storefront is correct for their purposes.
Availability
The app is provided on a reasonable-effort basis. It depends on Shopify delivering webhooks and on third-party hosting, and no specific uptime is guaranteed. Should a webhook be missed, a periodic full re-synchronisation is designed to bring the recorded prices back into line.
Plans and payment
Plans differ in how many products the app publishes the widget for. Products beyond a plan's allowance continue to have their price history recorded, but their widget stays hidden until the plan is upgraded.
All charges are handled by Shopify and appear on the store's regular Shopify invoice. The app never takes payment details. Cancelling the subscription or uninstalling the app ends future charges in line with Shopify's billing rules.
Acceptable use
The app may not be used to display price information the merchant knows to be inaccurate or misleading, nor may it be reverse engineered, resold or redistributed.
Liability
The app is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for indirect, incidental or consequential loss — including lost sales, lost profits, and fines or penalties imposed by any authority — is excluded. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.
Data
What the app stores, where, and how it is deleted is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Termination
A merchant may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from their Shopify admin. Tracking stops immediately and stored data is erased as described in the privacy policy.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and material changes are communicated to merchants using the app.
